The Killers - Sam's Town
The Killer's logo is the biggest and most iconic feature of the digipak's front cover. It is spread across the majority of the audience's line of vision therefore making it recognisable. The album's title "Sam's Town" appears very out of place on the front cover, as it is the only part to be in colour and uses a serif font. The colour red is used, connoting danger, therefore showing a link to the band's violent name. The dominant image used in the background of the cover shows what appears to be a run down barn, an objectified girl in explicit clothing, and a goat. This creates an indie, country, gypsy-like theme and more than likely symbolises the album's title "Sam's Town". Overall the front cover suits the band very well, as The Killers are stereotypically known for creating connotations of violence and aggression through their indie-rock music.

The disk proves to be a very iconic part of the digipak, as it shows only an image of a goat with it's horns fitting the curve of the disk. We see how the band have used continuity by following the black and white theme throughout and using the same animal as the one shown on the front cover. The choice of image is very abstract which is conventional for the indie genre.
The back cover shows a black and white image of the band. The image takes up the majority of the cover, highlighting that the band are of importance, making up for the fact that they are not featured on the front cover - this is conventional for the indie-rock genre. Their facial expressions are minimalistic and serious whilst their stances remain dominant. The dark rock theme shown throughout the digipak is portrayed further through the band's rugged, informal, rock style costumes, showing continuity through the use of black and white. The only colour used is red for the track listings, again connoting danger/violence as seen on the front cover. Institutional information, copyright information, the barcode etc shows to be very separated from the rest of the back cover, inferring the the main focus is solely on the band.
