Stop Motion Trials

COMPLETED BY ROSIE AND I

We planned to incorporate stop motion into the editing of our music video for the conceptual aspects, however when it came to editing the photo's of myself with the "PINK LEMONADE" letters (shown below), we faced some technical difficulties on Sony Vegas Pro. Post to inserting the images, we found that for the photos to be of correct dimensions, they would have black strips down either side. We were not keen on this at all, and found that it removed the professionalism portrayed within the editing of the video. We tried stretching and cropping the images to fit the required dimensions however important aspects of the photos were then cut off, so this did not work. Myself and Rosie took further action and decided to re-take the images in ways in which would allow us to crop them to fit to the dimensions of the video. Rosie took photo's of the letters on their own on green grass, to show continuity of the conceptual location and themes, and then incorporated them into a short stop motion video. Together, we then produced polaroid inspired images using the original photographs of me with the "PINK LEMONADE" letters, and took photos of them on green grass also. I then produced a short video of this version of stop motion, to show two examples of stop motion. Both trials are shown in the video below, and myself and Rosie plan to gather a focus group to obtain feedback on which example our target audience prefer and why. We will then place the most successful stop motion piece into our music video.
